Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is gearing up for one of the most anticipated films of the year — Coolie, starring none other than the legendary Rajinikanth. In a recent interview with Sudhir Srinivasan, Lokesh shared insights into what it was like working with the superstar, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes.

Speaking in a video interview on YouTube, Lokesh described how deeply moved he was by Rajinikanth’s life stories and humility. “Rajinikanth sir is such an incredible human being. Listening to everything he has been through in life, hearing about his experiences — it made me feel like we are all so small in comparison,” Lokesh said, clearly in awe.

He also shared an anecdote about veteran actor Sathyaraj, who had watched footage from the film. According to Lokesh, Sathyaraj was so impressed by Rajinikanth’s performance that he remarked, “He doesn’t just act like a hero — he lives the role.” This kind of praise, especially coming from a fellow industry veteran, speaks volumes about the respect Rajinikanth continues to command.

Coolie promises to be a visual spectacle, boasting an impressive ensemble cast. Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna will be seen in a powerful role as a no-nonsense police officer. The film also features Mirnaa Menon, SJ Suryah, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, and Kannada icon Shiva Rajkumar, who is expected to make special cameo appearances.

To top it off, the film’s music will be composed by the chart-topping Anirudh Ravichander, raising expectations even further.
