“They mocked my shoes… but I was busy dreaming of millions.”
In the early 2000s, three dreamers—Scott Seamans, George Boedecker, and I—discovered Croslite, a bizarre, feather-light resin that felt like walking on air. The world laughed. “Ugly,” they scoffed. “Who would wear plastic clogs with holes?”
But while the world dismissed us, we doubled down. Trade shows, boat expos—anywhere we could put our quirky shoes on feet. Retailers canceled orders. Experts rolled their eyes. Yet at one nautical event, we sold out. People slipped them on—and refused to take them off. That moment changed everything.
In just three years, Crocs went from a punchline to a global movement. We stumbled through fashion slumps and public ridicule, but we never compromised.
Because real style isn’t about blending in—it’s about boldly standing out until the world catches up.
Today, Crocs are everywhere: hospitals, schools, runways, red carpets.
The shoe once ridiculed became a symbol of fearless comfort and unapologetic individuality.
“Sometimes, the thing that looks the strangest… takes you the furthest.”
— George Boedecker, Co-founder of Crocs
